How many lessons does it take to get your licence in South Australia?

How many lessons does it take to get your licence in South Australia?

August 22, 2024

I often get asked this question and there is no straightforward answer as it depends entirely on the individual. There are 75 compulsory hours, of which 15 are night driving hours that ensure you are ready to take your final drive or VORT.

Driving competency will be the biggest determining factor that indicates your level of skill on the road, and the more competent the driver, the fewer lessons they will require. This is due to the lessons being necessary for learning driving skills, slow maneuvers, the basics of general driving and road law.

With that being said if the student demonstrates good driving ability and is capable of performing slow maneuvers and the basics of general driving, then I do not see why the student would not be able to achieve their provisional licence within 10 lessons or under.

If you are unsure whether you are ready to sit your VORT you can read some driving tips here to help improve your driving knowledge or click here to find out how to know if you are ready to sit your VORT.
