Tips to overcome driving anxiety

Many new drivers are inexperienced and therefore have no idea what to expect on the road. With that being said, new drivers are frequently more excited to start driving and thus are ready to jump straight into it. When new drivers feel as if they are less competent than what they had imagined, it can come with a lot of anxiety, fear and self doubt.


Here are a few tips to help ease driving anxiety and have you relaxed on the road in no time:  


Monitor caffeine intake prior to driving


Take deep rhythmic breaths before, during and after driving to regulate your nervous system.


Practice driving often to overcome you fear of driving. Do the thing you fear and the fear is sure to disappear.


Speak to a driving instructor and learn the road with someone who can protect you while driving.

Driving instructors have a break on their side of the car for a reason. This is to protect the learner and the car as well as the instructor of course.
